Level 3 Award in Education & Training
The HABC Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) is designed to provide an introduction to teaching for those who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities. The course is currently being delivered via "live" online sessions with a final training day at our centre in Nuneaton, where all Co-vid safety precautions are in place to ensure that you will get the full benefit of the micro-teach experience.
Individuals not currently teaching or training – achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than micro-teaching, unless units from the Learning and Development Suite of qualifications are selected.
Individuals currently teaching and training, including those new to the profession – although the qualifications does not require practice (see explanation above), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a trainee teacher’s practice.
Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.
Learners are required to gather knowledge about the role and responsibilities of a teacher. During the course, they will be encouraged to develop skills which will enable them to plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions.
Programme entry requirements.
Learners must be aged 19 + and have evidence of English and mathematics assessments.
How is it achieved?
Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence that will meet the learning outcomes for the units that have been selected and the practical micro-teach session, which is held for one day at the Nuneaton training centre.
